Surface Preparation

Surface must be structurally sound. Remove all loose debris, oil, grease, and other contaminants with Stone Mason® Concrete Cleaner and rinse thoroughly. Dampen surface with water just prior to application of Acryli Bond modified cement mixture.

Mixing

Stir before using. When Acryli-Bond is to be diluted, mix Acryli-Bond with clean water before adding dry mix to mixing liquid. For concrete patching use straight Acryli-Bond for the required dry mix to obtain the strongest bond and highest strengths. For large overlays or resurfacing mix 2 parts Acryli-Bond with 1 part water. Do not over mix as this will entrain too much air resulting in a porous surface.

Application

When Mixing Acryli-Bond with a dry mix, brush on a slurry coat of Acryli-Bond and cement patching mix to prevent air pockets. Then place cement mix onto an area to be repaired while slurry coat is still soft. Time placement should not exceed 20 minutes. Trowel mix into place firmly using a trowel and then finish promptly. Acryli-Bond can also be used as a concrete adhesive. Brush, roller-coat or spray on surface (surface should be damp, not soaking wet) as thick as a coat of paint. Please add new concrete, topping mixes, Portland cement mixes or plaster mixes, quickly while Acryli-Bond is still wet. IMPORTANT: Acryli-Bond must be wet when applying topping mixes. DO NOT LET DRY. Work in smaller area to ensure Acryli-Bond is still wet.

Temperature

Do not use when temperature is below 7°C (46°F)

Drying Time

Allow mixes containing Acryli-Bond to dry for 24 to 48 hours. When using in pools, cisterns or tanks, allow 7 to 8 days before filling with water. For brush-on application do not allow to dry.

Protection

Repaired areas should be protected by permanent or temporary means from weather and other damages during and immediately after application.

Tips

  1. When drying is rapid due to high temperatures, rapid air movement, etc., cover the freshly repaired surface with wet burlap or polyethylene sheeting.
  2. Allow a four-day cure period for heavy traffic areas.
  3. High humidity and excessive moisture will retard the drying time of Acryli-Bond modified mixes.
  4. For maximum bond and strength mix Acryli-Bond undiluted with dry mix.
