Surface Preparation

Surfaces must be structurally sound prior to application of Floor Patch and Leveler Cement. Secure loose boards or tiles with screws, nails and/or recommended adhesive. Substrates must be clean and free from dirt, grease, oil, wax, sealers, mildew, soap film and all loose material. Loose, scaly paint shall be scarified. Concrete must be fully cured and not subject to hydrostatic pressure.

Mixing

Mix only sufficient material for use within 10 minutes. Always use clean water, containers and tools. Use a ratio of 1 part cold water to 3 parts powder and mix to a smooth, creamy consistency. Apply immediately. For greater adhesion, performance and for applications over cutback adhesives, sheet vinyl, terrazzo, ceramic tile and plywood, use Stone Mason® Acryli Bond in place of water. Avoid excessive mixing and warm water as this will shorten working and hardening time of new mix. Always add powder to liquid when mixing. Avoid using high speed mixing to prevent air entrainment (should not exceed 300 rpm). Mix by hand or by electric drill and paddle for larger mixes. Working time: 10 minutes.

Application

Apply with a putty knife or flat cement finishing trowel. Once dry, sand any surface imperfections to obtain required smoothness.

Set Time

Initial set is approximately 25-30 minutes and the material will dry within 1-2 hours depending on the applied thickness, temperature and humidity conditions. Once completely dry, installation of new flooring material can commence.

Limitations

Interior use only. Do not apply directly over gypsum-based substrates. Floor Patch and Leveler Cement is not designed to be a final floor surface and must be overlaid with a suitable floor covering before exposed to traffic. Work in dry climate, at temperatures between 10°C (50°F) and 38°C (100°F). If a level area over 1.5 m2 (5 sq. ft) in diameter is required, use E-Z Flow or Super E-Z Flow Floor Underlayment.

Coverage

Approximately 1.8 m2 (20 sq. ft) applied at 1.5 mm (1/16") thickness or 0.4 m2 (4.7sq. ft) applied at 6 mm (1/4") thickness.

Clean Up

Clean tools and hands with clean water before material sets.

Tips

  • Test in small area first to determine suitability.
  • Smooth concrete, existing glazed tile, terrazzo or polished stone must be roughened or scarified prior to application of Floor Patch & Leveler Cement.
  • For removal of cutback and other adhesives consult with adhesive manufacturer.

Caution

Corrosive. May cause eye injury. If product gets into eyes, flush repeatedly with water and seek medical attention promptly. Avoid skin contact. If contact occurs, wash exposed skin with water. Protective eyewear should be worn.

First Aid Treatment

Cement when mixed with water results in a solution of calcium hydroxide. If splashed in eyes or on skin, flush thoroughly with water.
