A: Thickness. The Blueskin PreSeal 320 is a 32mil thick membrane material and Blueskin PreSeal 435 is a 43.5mil thick membrane. With the added thickness, the Blueskin PreSeal 435 material is slightly heavier, yet both products are lighter than most competing plastic waterproofing membranes.

A: The mechanical attachment happens much faster during the concrete curing process. This allows for accelerated construction sequencing. Additionally, mechanical bonds are not as susceptible to dirt/debris contamination. The chemical bond is a result of a chemical reaction between the concrete and the adhesive in the geotextiles. Chemical bonds prevent water migration should the membrane be breached. By offering both bonding technologies, Blueskin PreSeal membranes take the best attributes of each technology to ensure optimum performance.

Blueskin PreSeal is lighter weight than competing HDPE technologies. This allows for less jobsite fatigue transporting rolls across the site. Additionally, the less dense molecular formula of polypropylene makes the material easier to work with in colder climates.
